Virgin Islands: One Of The Most Visited Places

If you are tired of bustling cities, pollution and want to get away from work for a relaxing experience or to unwind. US Virgin Islands is the place to choose from for people who love nature at its best.

The US Virgin Islands has a very unique culture and history which reflect the West African Danish, Spanish, Polish, German and Irish heritage who have made home in US Virgin Islands since late 1400s. Virgin Islanders expressed themselves in paintings, drawings, sculpture, and photography. The rhythms and lyrics of their music such as steel pan melodies, calypso, cariso, soca, and reggae are colorful reminders of the past.

The Virgin Island’s traditions, which come alive during the celebrations throughout the year includes; The Three King’s Day Festival of St. Croix, St. John’s Fourth of July Celebration, and St. Thomas Annual Carnival. These are just three examples of the twelve special events that take place each year. However, visitors can always see the unique culture of the islands anytime of the year.

St. Croix
If you come to visit St. Croix, you will see traces of its rich cultural diversity through the island’s unique arts, crafts, and music. Mocko jumbies (dancers in colorful costumes wearing stilts), reggae and calypso, steel pan bands and salsa are just among the exciting and mesmerizing sights and sounds that add to the cultural mix of the Island.

The Crucian Christmas Festival, one of St. Croix‘s most popular event includes a month-long celebration of the Three Kings Day Parade

St. John

St. John is just 20-minute ferry ride from St. Thomas. Its most famous attraction is The Virgin Islands National Park St. John is known for its beautiful, white sand beaches with crystal blue waters. It is also known for its water sports activities such as windsurfing, snorkeling, diving, parasailing, fishing and sailing, and scuba diving. For those inclined to walk, the Reef Bay Trail in the national parks offers hiking past natural beauty, and plantation ruins.
But, if you are into peace, and quiet relaxation, Hawksnest Bay, Trunk Bay, and Cinnamon Bay are the best. Cruz Bay, on the other hand, is good for shopping spree, excellent restaurants and exciting nightlife.

St.Thomas

St. Thomas is a combination of its natural beauty with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. St. Thomas is a mountainous island, which offers stunning vistas anywhere in the island. Charlotte Amalie, the capital of the U.S. Virgin Islands, is one of the most beautiful harbors and most visited port in the Caribbean. Like St. John Island, St. Thomas draw visitors on this island with elegant dining, nightlife and world- class shopping.
